A lawyer at the Paris Bar since 2013, Célia Chauffray practices criminal law, contract law and copyright law, with a practice focused on complex cases, mainly related to white-collar crime and art market litigation.
She practiced for more than 10 years in the office of Maître Olivier Morice, where she handled numerous high-stakes criminal and political-financial cases in France and overseas.
Drawing on this experience, she has developed a specialization in art market litigation . She assists artists, collectors, galleries, auction houses, estates and insurers in disputes concerning authenticity, sales litigation, provenance issues, liability of intermediaries and associated criminal offenses (forgery, fraud, breach of trust, receiving stolen goods, money laundering, trafficking in cultural property).
Holding a Master 2 in criminal law and criminal policy (Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne), a DU in Criminalistics (Université Paris Descartes/IRCGN) and a DU in Art & Culture Law (Université de Nantes), she also attended courses at the École du Louvre in art history.
She speaks French, English and Italian.
She is a member of the Art & Law Institute .
